This site is a practical guide to the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra — the pilgrimage to Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar in Tibet — covering the different routes pilgrims use to get there, what the parikrama itself involves, and how to prepare.
Route availability for this pilgrimage is unusually seasonal and politically sensitive: some routes open and close with India–China relations, weather closes mountain passes for parts of the year, and permit rules on the Tibetan side shift periodically. This site tracks that as best it can and keeps a news & updates section for anything that changes.
Some of the content here — the Nepal route and the parikrama itself — draws on a firsthand trip made via Nepal in September 2016, originally kept as a personal travel journal at this same domain before it was folded into this guide in 2026.
